Dhaka: The court has ordered the seizure of 119 immovable and movable properties including various property deeds, flats and partial shares in companies in the name of former police chief (IGP) Benazir Ahmed, his wife Zishan Mirza, elder daughter Farhin Rista bint Benazir and younger daughter Tahsin Raisa bint Benazir.
In view of ACC's application, Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Assamach Jaglul Hossain gave this order on Sunday (May 26).
Earlier, on May 23, the same court ordered the seizure of various immovable assets and 33 bank accounts in the name of Benazir in 83 documents of Gopalganj Sadar, Kotalipara and Cox's Bazar.
ACC Investigation Officer Deputy Director Md. Hafizul appealed to Islam. It is said in the petition that Benazir Ahmed's assets may be transferred if they are not seized and seized. Later confiscation in favor of the State will not be possible. In view of that application, the court ordered attachment of immovable property and accounts.
The court said in the order, according to section 14 of Money Laundering Act 2012 and rule 18 of ACC Rules 2007, freezing of all immovable assets and immovable assets has been ordered. Crooked property cannot be transferred and money deposited as a seized bank cannot be withdrawn. In that regard, the concerned sub-registrar, AC Land BSEC and the managing directors of the concerned banks are instructed.
In the same way, 119 immovable and movable assets are requested today by ACC investigation officer Deputy Director Md. Hafizul Islam. A further 119 assets were ordered today following that application.
